Hotmail vs. Gmail

I have been angry at Hotmail for some time now, so I've decided to try Gmail, Google's version of email. This big negative about Hotmail is the small storage size. What is it? Oh yeah, 2 MB compared to Yahoo!'s 100 MB and Gmail's 1000 MB. I'm not ready to release the address until I'm confident I can live with it. I'll then create an MSN Passport so I can use the Gmail for MSN Messenger, thus ignoring Hotmail. We'll see how it goes...

Nickname Generator

As many of you know, Jimmy is not my real name; however, I have been called Jimmy by many people and I like my nickname. If you want an insane nickname, try these generators:

You are Red Hat Linux. You're tops among your peers, but still get no respect from them. It's all right with you. You have your sights set higher.
Which OS are You?

You are .swf You are flashy, but lack substance. You like playing, but often you are annoying. Grow up.

I'm Warped

I was walking out of Comp over to the Gag and Janet was coming out of FA and she saw me and came over and told me: "You're Warped!" I was laughing all the way over to the Gag. I have made an impression.

On a second note, I had no Internet for about 8 hours today because only MSN and my P2P was working and actually downloading something large and I didn't want to lose my place. This was both wierd and frustrating.

Halo LAN Results

OK this first one was Jimmy's finest moment. I got a Killtacular on this King of the Hill match. This does not usually happen. Plus, Jimmy's in 2nd! Posted by Hello

This second one isn't overly great, but 3rd in a team match makes Jimmy happy. Posted by Hello

I think I may have angered Jester and rubberducky in the very last match because for some reason they were really easy to pick off from long distances. That's the price you pay when you spend time yesterday practicing sniping.

And That Is How You Eat a Turkey

Wow, Blogger was offline for a while. OK in Theatre, we needed to bring in a comedy clip. I brought my laptop and A/V cables because we don't have a DVD player and I wanted to show a clip from Futurama. We went to Humanities anyways so it didn't matter. Jester connected the computer anyway to play his Stuart "He pooped in the pool" clip from MadTV. I then remembered that I have South Park on my laptop. I decided to show a scene from "Red Hot Catholic Love" in which Martha Stewart jams a Thanksgiving turkey up her butt...Janet created a new category of comedy to describe it.Posted by Hello

Idiots on eBay

Oh my...someone is actually fronting $117.50 for an Episode III General Grevious action figure. Hate to tell ya, but if you wait a few months for it to be released, it will cost around $6-8. Is it worth it to get it now? This is worse than the results you'll get searching eBay for "Crystal Pepsi"!

People switch partners faster than MSN accounts

From Mess.be:
Research involving nearly 23,000 Hotmail users in 13 countries has proven that people switch partners more often than they change Hotmail accounts. The study, called "Hotmail for Life", showed that for example 81.7 per cent of the Dutch participating Hotmail users had NEVER changed their Hotmail address, while 77.3% moved homes, 46.9% changed their haircolor and 44.9% bought a new car!

The same goes for other countries: the survey found that 74 per cent of Canadian respondents have NEVER changed their MSN Hotmail address, but a mere 11% have never changed job. Indians top the list of Hotmail loyalists: 92.3 per cent Indians have retained their original Hotmail addresses. India was followed by Italy (86.8 per cent), Germany (85.8 per cent) and Spain (85.3 per cent) in the list of Hotmail loyalists

A Hotmail address, also linked to other MSN services like MSN Messenger, appears to be one of the most stable factors in the life of the Hotmail user. Of all respondents 66% owned their account for over three years already.

I have to note that the study was finalized before the recent Gmail hype. Perhaps the new breed of "Super Inbox" services has made some of the Hotmail loyalists change their minds... or accounts.

Free iPods

Yes, it actually works, though it takes some time. Go to Free iPods.com, Participate in 1 free offer such as Blockbuster's version of Netflix or the Columbia House Music/DVD Club, Refer friends to do the same, and they'll send you a free 20GB iPod, iPod Mini, or a $250 Gift certificate for iTunes Music Store.

I witnessed this on The Screen Savers and one of the hosts, Kevin Rose, has a refferal post on his blog. Use of those links to do the deal, than post the link they give you up there. Hopefully in time, enough people will have done your referral to have them send you an iPod!

Adventures in Omaha

Today was fun. I was looking for 3 action figures: Doc Ock, Super Posebale Spider-Man, and something from South Park or Halo.

I knew Spider-Man was cheap at Wal-mart. I went to Oakview area and went to Toys 'R' Us to find a Doc Ock and there was none, there wasn't even a good Star Wars one. I went into Best Buy out of boredom and saw Chris and Boldra from my graduating class. Chris said that he doesn't want to play Halo because he knows he'll get addicted to it and would therefore have to buy an Xbox. I also went to GameStop and they had nothing at all, but they did have a Master Chief statue from Halo 2 and I did notice a box that said "Halo 2...November 9...blah blah" but I noticed it said by the opening "Free, Take One" I couldn't see anything but hooks. Maybe something for the midnight party?

I then went to Crossroads. There were some action figures at Sam Goody and nothing at Suncoast. I went over to that Toys 'R' Us and found my Doc Ock. Frickin' sweet.

I went over to Westroads and Suncoast reaggranged itself. They had some Towelies and some grunts but no Master Chiefs. GameStop did. They had a lot of Battle-damaged Master Chiefs and 2 Halo 2 Master Chiefs. Sweet.

I went to Walmart and bought the Spidey then. When I got home, my Futurama I ordered from Amazon using the deal arrived so I was still happy. I will probaby post pics soon once I find some unflaterring poses for them. Until then,. ASIA!

Tommy Lee goes from Crüe to Cornhusker

WOW! Tommy Lee is filming a reality TV show at UNL. Apparently he's been there since 10/7.

OK, people I know at UNL: Todd, Scott, Sarah, Brendan, Eric, Katie, Amy, Joslyn, Sara, among others I can't think of at the moment...Totally, let me know if you see him or the crew hanging around. Then, find $100 and buy this so you can easily take a concealed picture and then send it to me.

Day Wanna Wonga

Today was fun in a way. My Blogging Paper was workshopped today (keep posting, it's not due for another week). Then I went to the gag, noticed that I forgot my ID, went to my room, then went back to the gag.

I saw an episode of Star Trek: TNG that was funny. Troi wanted to go into a room where someone was murdered and Worf said he could open the door, but only for a short time. It reminded me of something out of the 10th Kingdom or Monty Python where you can't do anything with out a catch; for example, "I will give you my axe, but only if you can guess my name" or some other crap. I laughed.

I went to History and found out I got a Frickin' A on the test. I then went to my room, then to Jester's and played and thoroughly glitched the game. I went to Sci-Fi club and got a picture of me hugging Star Wars when it came out. I went back to Jester's and watched Army of Darkness. Nothing's happening. Nothing's happening.

Mr. Beavers then put in The Empire Strikes Back. I learned something. Saying "E Chu Taa" or "Day Wonna Wanga" makes Goose laugh hysterically. The same happens when deploying the long-distance tickle. I thought that was drug addicts only.

Oh God, I'm coming down!

Blogging Paper Rough Draft

I am currently writing a paper for Comp on Cyberculture and I chose blogging and, more specifically, why people should blog. I need about 5-6 pages and I have 3 and I've sorta hit a wall. I know there are more ideas, but my brain shrunk. I will put the paper in the comments: feel free to comment any ideas or suggestions whether or not you actually read it.

Storm Front

OK, I decided if I was going to do any review of the new Enterprise season, I would do the opeining two-parter as one story. It wasn't bad. There were a LOT of unanswered questions that seemed to be whisked away at the end. There is one thing that did really get to me...

(spoilers: highlight to read)
At the end they showed a huge fleet of Earth, Vulcan and other ships escorting Enterprise back to Earth in the correct time. My annoyance is: Where were all those ships when a weapon was in orbit trying to destroy the planet? All Archer had was a peon Insectoid ship he was given and Shran's Andorian vessel. Go back to even "The Expanse" when Enterprise was under attack by Duras in the Sol sector, there were 3 Earth vessels that came out of nowhere. Drove me nuts! (end spoilers)

Other than that, it wasn't a bad two hours of my life. I'll probably Torrent them when I get home next weekend where it isn't blocked. I couldn't help thinking that with this whole alternate timeline thing that someone wouldn't appear and say, "Ziggy says you can't leap out until you stop the Nazis." Oh well, I ranted. And this was also a flimsy pretext for testing out my ability to post spoilers.

I was so bored today that I decided to watch Star Wars Episodes I and II with the commentaries on. Not bad. I'll get sround to the other ones later. I do like how Lucas gives reference to Jay and Silent Bob, though. Oh well, he didn't throw a child.

10,000 Days of Star Wars

This is when you know you have way too much time on your hands.

Getting close to 100!

Yay! I finally have a random quote generator that I like and actually works. I have to give props to these guys for writing the code. I have at the moment 94 quotes to cycle between and will probably get more. I now know that I can never put a hit counter on my blog because so many people will be clicking Refresh (F5) so many times that it would be horribly inaccurate.

It does tend to repeat some, but there should be enough to make sure that something is new everytime. If there isn't something new, you have obviously wasted too much time with Jimmy. Seek help.

Super Mario Mania

Wow, last night, after more Battlefront, we watched Super Mario Bros. the crappy movie. I found the video of some Japanese kid beating Super Mario Bros. 3 in 11 minutes. We then whipped out the Nintendo 64 and played Battle Tanks and Mario Kart. The new systems have spoiled us all. I forgot how bad the older systems really were when split-screened. I'm not sure I want to see how I do at GoldenEye now.

Enterprise Season 4 Tomorrow

A new reason to stay up in Wayne for a couple weeks. "Storm Front, Part I" will be debuting on KMEG Channel 14 tomorrow at 11:30 pm, not 10:30 like last year. It actually premieres tonight on UPN, but we don't get that. After all the fun of the Xindi arc it's time to figure out what exactly happened at the end of it.

Chris, that's a terrible word...

You know it's a good day on Morey 3rd South when all 4 toilets are stalled. So bad it even got the urinal. It is so nice to have to walk down the hall just to take a dump.

There is literally crappy toilet water everywhere! It's in my raccoon wounds!

I would post a pic to accompany this event, but...Come On!

Another Star Wars Roundup

Coming Soon! has yet another Star Wars Roundup with 4 possible spoiler scenes and a roll call from rumored and confirmed sources.

Coming Soon! - Latest News

DDR Extreme and Battlefront

OK, just got done playing the new DDR Extreme thanks to Erik w/a K. It's really fun with a lot of new modes. I have to practice the Party Mode mini-games better and Mission Mode is just evil. We unlocked a good amount of stuff today, but still no Endless Mode. Even though it sounds ridiculous, I want to at least try it once with the EyeToy. I do feel that the DDR games are getting progressively easier, but Extreme doesn't tell you when you've unlocked everything so it may yet have some challenging songs.

On another note, I finally got around to playing the Battlefront Xbox demo on my 4th Star Wars Trilogy disc. It's not bad, but they siad it's nothing like the real game. The controls were wierd but I fairly got the hang of it. This is why I'm still on Legacy on Halo. I really, really want to rent it for PlayStation 2 so I can figure out if it is as awesome as it was on the demo. I love killing Ewoks and want to kill some Gungans!

Top 11 Ways George Lucas Could Ruin Episode III

11. Show Amidala being artificially inseminated by C-3P0.
10. Have Greedo's father shoot Han's father.
9. Have the Empire invade the planet of Erak on the pretext that they have weapons of mass destruction.
8. Anakin shouting at the end, "I'll get you, Obi-Wan, if it's the last thing I do!"
7. Forgetting the whole plot and killing Anakin and Yoda.
6. Tell the actors and actresses that they were over-emoting during the last two movies, and they should act with less excitement.
5. End the movie with the Sith holding a large celebratory barbecue in the woods, with fireworks bursting overhead.
4. Cast John Stamos and Dave Coulier as Luke and Leia's Uncle Jesse and Uncle Joey
3. Have the actors make lightsaber and blaster sound effects themselves
2. Have the incident that finally pushes Anakin over to the dark side, be the Jedi Council making fun of his new haircut
1. Entitle it Revenge of the Sith, and continue to write and direct it on his own.

Snugglebuns and You: Halo Boy Band

Yesterday

Wow, the weeks have been going by so fast, except for yesterday.
I never made my Counseling class and Theatre was minimal due to the play tonight. I overheard a story involving a squirrel. Jester and I watched some Futurama and then I ate and then saw Jester on a campus tour and took that until Rice and went to Web Design, she wasn't there. I listened to some crazy music of my roommate's and then went to Geography...I have no idea what he said, he just rambles on and on and on. The I went to the Library to have my paper due today workshopped, forgetting to sign in/sign out for theatre hours. Went back to the room...Witnessed some DDR with one on pad, one on controller down on 2nd. Played that for a while. Went to eat. Went over to Niehardt to go over then to Ramsey to see the play. Jester could've spit on me. Went over to Mr. Beavers room. Watched 15 minutes of Enterprise until Halo started up. After that, I helped Jester get falling Halos similar to the falling leaves on my page. They still don't work without doing a wax on/wax off thing to text. Went back to the room, finished editing my paper, due in 20 minutes and printed it and then slept.

'The Simpsons: The Movie' Taking Shape

Ooh, ooh! Found another one...IMDb reports:

After promising a theatrical feature version of The Simpsons for years, the TV show's creator, Matt Groening, has indicated that plans for the movie are at last approaching fruition. In an interview with Britain's Guardian newspaper, Groening remarked, "We're trying to tell a story that we wouldn't do on television and take advantage of a longer process and a more ambitious process for animation." However, he added, the movie "will either kill the [TV] show or completely reinvigorate it." Admitting that he regards himself as a liberal, Groening also said that he has been given unprecedented freedom by the conservative-oriented Fox TV network. He told the newspaper: "We've poked fun at Rupert Murdoch a number of times and some of the executives are worried about it, although Rupert himself seems to be very good natured. He played himself as 'evil billionaire tyrant Rupert Murdoch' and good for him."

I'm not so sure about a movie version of the Simpsons. Are there any more ideas left?

Leaving the closet on the Simpsons

IMDb reports:
Marge Simpson's sister Patty will come out as a lesbian and marry a woman that she met in a bar in a forthcoming episode of The Simpsons, several gay-oriented websites are reporting. The episode is almost certain to touch off controversy, not only because of the significant number of children the series continues to attract but also because it comes at a time when many states are seeking to ban same-sex wedding ceremonies. It is due to air early next year.

I guess that will finally expain a lot about her, or they're really running out of ideas.
