Field Experience
Well, I'm done with my field experience for this semester. It was really good, but I am glad to be done. Going to bed around 10:30 and waking up at 6:30 was getting difficult. I know I will have to get used to it next year but I think it's the fact that it's still dark out and I know I'm surrounded by people who are still asleep that makes me dread waking up. I can do it when I go home with ease probably because my parents wake up psycho early so I know I'm not waking anyone.
I did the experience at Norfolk which meant driving for an additional 30 minutes. That just reassured me that I don't want to live far away from my job as I do now. The teachers were very good and reassuring. I had some doubts going in about teaching (what a time to get them) based on my Ed Psych and Methods classes but seeing the teachers honestly care less about what those ridiculous classes say was very reassuring. They know what makes students learn more than a textbook and its high and mighty views.
Norfolk is a place that I could work at. Unfortunately, it's a bit low on my list of places I would live in. I love Omaha. You can find anything if you're willing to drive anywhere. Sioux City is high up there as well since most of the town is quite concentrated. Well, now I have to worry about my experience for next semester. That's a little more hours but my schedule is even more accommodating.
