Summer Plans

I'm almost done! I have to take my Sped final which shouldn't be too hard. Then I pack up the computer, take out the trash, take photos of my empty, echoing room, get checked out, and I'm gone. I have my Sunfire filled to the brim with stuff to take home (photos to follow soon) That will be a fun 1½ hour drive.

Well next week I'll be working from like morning until 5. I'll have time from 6-6:30 on and I'll have weekends off. If anyone wants to get a hold of me for some reason, here's when I'll be available. I'll try to keep blogging so you all can keep wasting time with Jimmy. I might be getting a cell this summer, not sure yet so we'll see.

Hope everyone has an awesome summer and go see Star Wars starting May 19. (If anyone is in the Omaha area and wants to go to the midnight showing at Oakview, let me know sometime, I may be able to hook you up)

Finals suck! 

My Clock Fell

My clock fell down a few minutes ago. It totally shattered which was cool to watch. The neon tube burst. It kinda angers me because it gave me no warning signs, it just went. Oh well, I just really liked that clock. I may have to get a hold of a new one if they're cheap or if anyone knows where I can get neon tubes because the clock part still works. The insanely bright blue light is gone!

And for future reference: If anyone knows how to hang a clock on a concrete wall (no nails) by some other way than two pieces of curled duct tape on the back with two pieces of duct tape going down the sides, let me know!

I plan on moving my nonessentials out tomorrow as well as studying for the two tests on Wednesday. Wednesday I'll pack more and give back my books and Thursday my mom will come up and take home some stuff for me. If I think I can get all my stuff in by Wednesday, she won't need to come up though. I plan on being outta here on Thursday after my last final. If anyone wants a lunch, dinner, or to hang out with Jimmy before summer, give me a holler by phone, email, or comment.

For once in my life

Today I had one class today. It was History. We had a small turnout on Friday so she said she give us our test question on Monday. Well I get there and there's a cancellation sign on the door. The only time I don't want a class cancelled is when I want a good grade on a final. I hope that someone finds out what is on the final. So I went back to my room and "watched" TV (slept through) and then later watched Star Wars Episode II. Oh well...

Stormtroopers

In the days before the Clone Wars, it was decided that battle droids suck. They suck more than any other kind of army in existence. They hit nothing and had warning labels that say "Fragile." So then, to one-up the battle droids, clone troopers are created. Now they don't look like they suck, considering their enemies, but they do.

There is only one movie that gives them credit, the original. Sure, they're weak minded and such, but they can survive walking into a starship single-file against several Rebel troopers aiming at the door. When the Jawas are slaughtered, Obi-Wan notices that Tusken Raiders could not have killed them and rather stormtroopers "are so precise." Ironic considering Tusken Raiders can pick off podracers going at around 300mph. I think he meant frequent, or he may be remembering how efficient they were in killing the Jedi off. I don't blame them for bad targeting since they can't see a thing in their helmets. Who was the brainchild Kaminoan designer who thought of that? Whatever saving grace they had is now gone after Obi-Wan bites the dust and a squadron of troopers can't hit Luke standing still not too far away from them.

They are able to conquer Hoth, but they were supported by walkers and Vader. Here's an idea: instead of setting up a larger gun to shoot the non-moving starship before it leaves, find a way to open the door! It's worth a try. I also love the great protection their armor gives them. Leia gets shot and "it's not bad" but when a bolt hits a trooper, it burns through the armor and he falls over backwards. I know they can't see a thing, but smoke is also the thing that completely screws with their vision.

It's only in the last movie do we see their crowning moment. Hey, Endor is green, get down their with your white as snow armor. The scout trooper isn't much of a scout considering he stands out from a half mile away. They are supposed to convey this aura of fearlessness, and "we don't need to hide ourselves" mentality. Well that only works when your troops are actually good. Oh yes, it is nice how the Emperor sends his best troops to eliminate the Rebel task force only to have their forces destroyed by teddy bears. Sticks and stones my break my armor but we'll never fire a shot. Seriously, who was the brainchild Kaminoan designer who thought of their armor? Can't see, can't move, no protection from rocks much less blasters, and no camouflage.

Late Nights

Last night Morey provided food for people at 1:00am. That was fun. I ended up talking to Heath and others about many things and it lasted until 5:15am. We started off talking about superhero movies and the he said we should have a Geek Fest.

We then talked about WillyCon. This was good because we need to improve our turnout. He made a list of improvements for WillyCon/Sci-Fi club starting with Halo Tournament. I said yes so fast because I've been trying to do something like that for some time now. He also thought we should do more contests such a comic or squiggle contests. He put down costume contest and I told him we have a masquerade and he brought up a good point: Why do we limit the parameters of what counts? We have such a limited turnout that we probably should not limit what you can be. On that, a good fundraiser would be going to schools in costume to take pictures with kids. I do feel the club needs some reform beyond promotion. If there is anything such as DnD Fridays, let people know. So many people game such as Magic or Warcraft and Sci-Fi should be the vehicle that starts it.

We then talked about other topics such as Catholicism, religion, aliens, and time travel. That was interesting. I'm not one on physics but don't really believe that light is the absolute limit. Anyways, it was fun. Let's say I woke up for History, but set the wrong alarm for government and woke up at 11:49, then again at 3:08. Time for the CF walk. Fun as always.

Ding, Dong, the class is dead!

Yay! I'm done with Psych! Man, I hate that class. I'm also done with Family and Personal Relationships, Sped, and Professional Ed. This has been my least fun semester yet. I've really only enjoyed Government with Sped at a close second if it weren't for the eternal projects. Oh well, I'm done almost!

ACM Farewell Party

We had our farewell party for our graduating seniors. It started at 5 and I brought Miniatures, Risk, and my external. Nick and Sam played Miniatures and Erik, Randy, and Warner brought an Xbox and played Madden. We provided pop, cake, and a party sub. After a while, Roger, Dan, and I started Risk. Dan never played. After a while people got bored and soon they left and it was just us. I was bored so I started the new episode of Family Guy, an Enterprise episode, and two episodes of South Park. During the game, we each had taken over most of the map, but spread ourselves too thin. In the end, Dan won by finally conquering my Australia. That's OK, it was fun.

Get the Presents!

I bought me some presents today. I picked up a couple of boosters of Rebel Storm Miniatures because Hastings has a surplus it seems. I have greatly increased their forces so they're actually playable. Oh well, I'm done with my Education Portfolio. I was talking to Biskuit and he says that he would rather do Chemistry than busy work. I'm glad that his major. Finally, for no other reason, here is the insanely bright blue light that now eminates from my room.

Morey's Trash Bash

Last night was the trash bash. I enjoyed it a lot. There was 4 square which makes you feel like a 5-year old again. There also was Tony's Skee-ball table. I mainly played volleyball with the Walmart bag net that fell down 4 times. I had some of Jessie's Kitty Litter Cake. Afterwards, there was prizes. I won in each category. I got a broom and dustpan in the small category. I also got a pool cue and played lightsabers until I exchanged it for an enormous frisbee. In the large category I got a neon clock which is cool. It will look so awesome in my pad next year.

First New Episode of Family Guy has been leaked

The first episode: North by North Quahog has been leaked on the 'net. I'm downloading it as I type and am excited. I was probably going to download it like South Park after it airs. Don't worry, I won't spoil it here by posting my Live Quotes yet or spilling the jokes when it airs. By the way, my stance on downloading TV shows is I do it because there is no legal way of purchasing it. I also typically get the lowest quality so that buying the DVDs is worth it. There is one exception: Enterprise. I get HD quality with that, but they aren't out until May and they are expensive, but I still want those DVDs.

Personally, I think it's too casual to do one that follows the most recent movie. I'd like them to do post-New Jedi Order (25 years after ROTJ) while the actors are that age. I also have thought it would be cool to wander around a couple years before The Phantom Menace and attempt to make it seem like a better movie. And of course, I'd want Lucas to remain very little involved to allow someone else to come up with something new and interesting to the saga. By the way, you guys know that I already have storylines for these timelines thought up, don't you?

Episode III Soundtrack

iTunes has an exclusive track from the upcoming soundtrack to be released on May 3 (the same day of the release of the Phantom of the Opera DVD) so there might be a midnight run for that...Rachel. Anyways, the track is called "Battle of the Heroes" so I wonder what part of the movei that's about? I like the track, as if I wouldn't, and I reccommend it because it won't be on the soundtrack according to Amazon.

Also, there's a new trailer for the video game that look really cool. It probably has few to do with the actual movie, but the game looks awesome. Check it out.

Video Happy Day

Today was a good day for those nerds who get their rocks off for new video clips from Star Wars. There are 3 new TV spots, 2 of which are ironically targeted toward kids despite Lucas not wanting children to see the movie. Also there are clips from a German show that shows ILM clips of the movie. OK, I get the giggles everytime I hear a dubbed video a la Enterprise in Spanish. It is cool because we see Grievous move an we see Matthew Wood, the voice of Grievous talk in normal-speak. In the TV spots you also hear a Grievous sound byte from the movie for the first time hearing an official voice since Clone Wars Vol. 2.

3 Short Stories from the Weekend

Into the Dragon's Lair
I started with the plan of getting both the Rebel Storm and Clone Strike starter sets for Miniatures before they are removed from shelves, preferably Rebel Storm. I went to Hastings after school on Friday to see if they had any miniatures...one box...in the back...overpriced. So then the next day I went over to Walmart because I needed to kill time and they had none. They did have the Revenge of the Sith starter for miniatures and TCG. Ironic because they don't sell expansions to either. I then went to Toys 'R' Us and they had none but I did see their display. They had a huge Vader helmet and had free LEGO Mini TIE Interceptors with a purchase of $15 or more. No, I didn't get one. They also had a bunch of other cool crap that I wouldn't mind having at some point. I went to Oakview Mall and Waldenbooks had the new ones and GameStop had a few Clone Strike boosters overpriced. I tried Barnes and Noble only to find the new ones as well. I decided to take a chance, I went to the Dragon's Lair Comics shop in Millard. That place is like a mini-WillyCon (if that's possible). There was some gaming and a ton of crap to get. They had all starters and boosters and sold individual miniatures. Paradise. They also had all expansion boosters of TCG and some Star Trek CCG. Let's just say I got a punch card.

Let's Never Go to Sleep
My high school wanted my to bring DDR for post prom again. I borrowed Extreme from Brenner and set it up they way I wanted it. I got a big screen and this was the first time I used an S-Video cable so it looked sweet. While I was playing I played High-def Battlefront. Most of the people played it and Morgan wants to buy it now. There's always someone who plays it for the first time and wants to get it, myself included. I was happy too because the Karaoke was moved across the room so it was at least possible to play over it. I also played some Rhythm and Police to give them hope. The post prom ended at around 4:15 am and I was asleep at 5. Fun. So I was happy this was better than last year. They probably request it again next year.

Westroads is a Motherlode
Today I went to Westroads Mall and I was pleasantly surprised. Waldenbooks had both old starters and Clone and new boosters, Suncoast had both old starters and Clone and new boosters, and Gamestop had overpriced Clone and new boosters. Where was I yesterday? I knew I wasn't getting the other starter yet because I need some more time but I picked up a Clone booster from Suncoast for no reason and then I got a Cinnabon. Oh, Cinnabon! The booster I got rocked. I got so many good ones. I then went to Target and found Star Wars Risk for 19 f-in dollars! I was really, really, really, tempted to get it. They also had a Puzz3D foam puzzle of Anakin's Jedi Starfighter. I never heard of this and never knew they still made those. Still not clean!

My Complaint About Prof. Karen Walker

I've got a bone to pick with Prof. Karen Walker. The first thing I want to bring up is that given a choice of having Prof. Walker use psychological tools to trick us into doing whatever dishonest grizzlers require of us or having my bicuspids extracted sans Novocaine, I would embrace the pliers, purchase some Polident Partials, and call it a day. I can't follow her pretzel logic. I do, however, know that if Prof. Walker thinks that she can make me go crazy, then she's barking up the wrong tree. It may be coincidence that her holier-than-thou attitudes spoil the whole Zen Buddhist New Age mystical rock-worshipping aura of our body chakras. It may be coincidence that they step on other people's toes. And it may be coincidence that they retain an institution which, twist and turn as you like, is and remains a disgrace to humanity. But that's a lot of coincidence!

Don't kid yourself: I do not find methods of interpretation that are ethically bankrupt, sullen, and dictatorial to be "funny". Maybe I lack a sense of humor, but maybe last summer, I attempted what I knew would be a hopeless task. I tried to convince Prof. Walker that we can and we must protect ourselves by any means necessary against the sexist bestiality of brutal, squalid renegades. As I expected, Prof. Walker was unconvinced. While everybody believes in something, her simple faith in mercantalism will make bribery legal and part of business as usual. Now there will, no doubt, be supercilious, blasphemous bloodsuckers out there who will ask, "So what if Prof. Walker's lapdogs devalue me as a person? That won't affect me." Such crippled thinking is the best example there is as to why racialism is not merely an attack on our moral fiber. It is also a politically motivated attack on knowledge. Although Prof. Walker wants to challenge all I stand for, if we fail to speak out against behavior and speech that is intended to expose and neutralize her enemies rather than sit at the same table and negotiate, then we have no one to blame but ourselves. Unfortunately, I can already see the response to this letter. Someone, possibly Prof. Karen Walker herself or one of her emissaries, will write a condescending piece about how pushy I am. If that's the case, then so be it. What I just wrote sorely needed to be written.

Registration Fun!

Hardly! I guess there's something about not taking an Honors class for a semester doesn't allow you to register first. So I was not sure when I could register if my current hours count or not. They don't. So I've woken up early on Monday, Tuesday, and today! I would've taken an honors class except I'd either taken them all or they would've hurt my major. Well, I wake up today and register to find out that I was not approved. I talked to Dr. Blaser last week and he said I already was by Dr. Garvin. I figured he looked at the wrong term. I waited for him in between his classes and he was shocked too and we got it corrected. I went to register and I got in all my classes with one surprise. When I registered for Sociology, I accidentally typed in the wrong call number. I was registered for PSY 403 - Cognitive Psychology. I'm thinking, "No, no more Psych!" and drop it and add the right call number. So now I can watch both DS9 episodes today because Dr. Leeper is not in today so there's a nice release.

Sunday's Con and Registration

Today was fun. I picked up another booster for Star Wars Miniatures and I also got the rest of the trading cards. If I'm in Sioux City again (with time on my hands) I would love to stop at Acme Comics and Collectibles. Fran rocks! It sorta feels weird to not wear my badges now. Oh well. I played Miniatures with Rich. He thought it was weird at first, but after he won he said he liked it. I played Lord of the Rings Risk again and Greg won tremendously again. I held my own for as long as possible. We then went to the dead dog party and were going to play Risk but there was a lot of people there. I went to the dorms to unload all of my stuff and prepare for registration and my Government test tomorrow! Yay!

Saturday's Con

Yesterday was so fun. I basically hung out at the registration desk all day. Josh dragged himself up to Wayne along with Matt and Jen and that was great. And Kaddy showed up too. Fran at Acme Comics talked me into getting the Star Wars Miniatures game. I love it. I had to buy a booster pack because the characters you are given are really weak by themselves. I played that with Sam (trying to figure it out) and then with Greg (finally got it figured out). We then played a huge game of Star Wars Trivial Pursuit (probably one of the last games I may play with that board if I get the new version quickly) and I won but it was close. We then played Lord of the Rings Risk and Greg on the side of evil won when the found the ring at Mordor two spaces away from Mount Doom. I also got wiped out at Minas Tirith but it was fun. I then watched Zombies until the Masquerade show. Paper faces on parade... And then the door prizes. I watched Munchkin, then Enterprise, and back to Munchkin. And then we had to see the forbidden Fargo tape until I got tired and returned to the dorm.

I do have to say something. WillyCon this year was in combination with the Young Author's Conference which wasn't too bad, except no one from there was working the registration desk. So many times the desk was bombarded with questions about the Conference that we have no idea on because they told us nothing and hey have little information there. Oh well, I'll get over it.

WillyCon VII

OK, I am excited for WillyCon this year! I would like to encourage all WSC students to pay it a visit anytime this weekend. It's all over the Student Center so if you're bored or something just check it out. It's free to all WSC students. If nothing else, take a look at the art show in the Niobrara room and if you feel adventurous, place a bid. There's some awesome art this year.

I'm not entirely sure, but to win or buy anything at the art show or from a dealer, you might need a badge. Well, that's free also, just go down to the Atrium and they'll hook you up. I'll be there at 10am and 4pm if you want to visit!

Halo 2 Expansion Pack

1Up told me about the Halo 2 Multiplayer Expansion Pack. the first two out later in the month are called Contanment and Warlock which is basically Wizard which will be free. Later ones include: Turf, and Sanctuary and will be for purchase at the same time.

• We're releasing a total of nine new multiplayer maps.
• All nine maps will eventually be available as Live downloads and as a normal boxed game disc - available at retail for $19.99 (US).
• The release on Live will be staggered, some paid, some free!
• The first two maps are free and coming in a few short weeks. (late April)
• The same day the 2 free maps are released, 2 additional maps will be available for purchase.
• The remaining 5 maps will be made available as a paid download on the same day the retail package goes on sale.
• The retail disc will contain extras, including a documentary, a cool project from our cinematic and animation team, every Halo 2 update released so far and possily one or two other little treats.
• By late summer, ALL the maps will be available for free.

Speaking of downloadable content, I took the liberty of downloading the Jabba's Palace map for Battlefront on Brenner's box. It's so small that every match is a bloodbath, cool. Well, the new MSN 7 is out with all the features of my old beta. Hope you all like it! I have been suprised how many people still don't have/use MSN 6. All these no display pictures worry me. I talked to my advisor today about my schedule. I told him I didn't really expect to be out of here in 4 years with what I'm taking. He told me I'll probably be here another 3 years. I thought to myself "a six-year student!" When I got back to my room, it dawned on me that I'm a sophomore with 2 years in college done. 2+3=5 years, not six. I feel better now. Good thing I'm in college not taking Calculus.

ROTS Changes

The movie's not even out yet and Lucas is changing it. Don't worry, he didn't make Greedo shoot first again, just a few changes to what sound like the end. It's not unheard of especially when he first had Darth Maul fall in one piece and then had Anakin hold on to Padmé on their wedding with his intact hand. Iowegians are so nice

I went to Sioux City today. I went to Hot Topic and they were playing "Smile Like You Mean It" and I was happy. I also went to Spencer's and Sam Goody then left. I then went to Toys 'R' Us. They had Star Wars music playing by all the new toys. They were all out of the BLue Guard action figures. Apparently, the Red Guard will be out later. I did see the Star Wars Risk and I'm a little disappointed. It's not so much a map then a series of conjoined planets. Oh well, I still want it. Like the Lord of the Rings version with the One Ring moving toward Mount Doom, it has the Emperor moving toward Order 66. Well, I got a vintage Stormtrooper I've been wanting.

Anyways, I then went to Target after trying to figure out how to get there for a while. I was looking at the action figures and a Target Security Guard came over and asked which ones I was getting. I told him I was getting the Blue Guard and a Battle Droid. He said he got the Anakin and Vader and that was cool. I went to check out and the cashier shouted out "Star Wars!" How nice. That Target is the nicest ever!

Aftermath of the Concert

What's a concert without a delay? This one was supposed to let us in at 6:00, but we got in around 6:30-6:45. It's a shame we got frisked because I have no pictures. No lighters, no cameras, no spy.
The first two bands weren't all that memorable thanks to Goldfinger. Yeah, they kinda made an impression. I doubt they'll come back if the school had their way. Popular demand would be there, but no school. Basically when you tell kids to quit school, smoke pot, and form a band, you might not be pleasing the authorities. And if that wasn't it, the profanity and flashing will. Oh well, it was all awesome! Goldfinger brough a crap-load of people on stage and jumped into the audience and whatnot. I feel bad for All-American Rejects. They rocked, but people were tired. All in all it was great. I got free swag such as a poster and some stickers and I got the Rejects's CD. I was disappointed that Goldfinger had nothing because they would've made so much money. Also, I heard All-American Rejects got stoned before Goldfinger took the stage.

Buy some Toys!

Wow, it's been a day. I should've put this up yesterday but I had a wild day of Halo and Battlefront. Anyways, on Friday I took a midnight run to Walmart to get the first of the new Star Wars merchandise. I picked up 4 action figures: Count Dooku, Darth Vader, Clonetrooper, and a Super Battle Droid. I found out later that a more articulated clonetrooper will be out later in the year so live and learn. Vader also isn't very poseable and some weird, sick action. He also has trouble standing up, but he's not too bad. Count Dooku is awesome. He's one of the most poseable ones I've seen. He does come with some spoilers designed in him so that's interesting. His hands come off and his head comes off. Not too much we weren't expecting. I still want to get Mace Windu, a Battle Droid, and the Red and Blue Guard.

I might be making a mad dash into Sioux City on Monday to visit Spencer's, Hot Topic, Sam Goody, Toys 'R' Us, and Target to look for more stuff. I would go today, but I'm going to the concert!

Also, I got dismal results from my previous post, so I won't be experimenting with that, but if anyone on campus has the Pepsi/Mountain Dew/etc. iTunes free song caps and they're not going to use them, let me know.

The Best Test EVER!

OK, going into this test was awesome. It's an essay test for Sped in class, that she already gave us the questions. There are 20 and we pick 15. So I already studied the crap out of them and then she comes in today and says that she's been getting calls for a fraternity all day and she needs to be in her office. Now, a common teacher would cancel the test, but that's no fun. So she has us put all of our stuff in her office and she gives us a group test. The same questions except we get to talk to each other. I love it!

Now, I know a lot of the questions already so I get done fast. This happens to much to me because I have a talent that I can write compact and quality-filled short sentences. My bane of Comp: 4 page paper due and I can only write 3 because I've ran out of stuff to write about. Anyways, I'm sitting in the class for the longest time until I just leave.

So now all of my stress is gone. I was elected ACM Secretary again for next year and I interviewed Wayne's sped teacher for Sped and I only have to talk to my FieldEx teacher now. By the way, I also have only like 5 hours left of FieldEx so that's winding down too. Whew!

Why Norfolk is Norfork

I was a little bored today, so I was clicking around on Wikipedia, the encyclopedia on everything and stumbled upon Norfolk's listing. Apparently the town was named after the north fork simplified of the Elkhorn River, but the USPS thought it was a mistake so they changed the name to Norfolk and that's why people don't pronounce it as it is spelled. I feel so learned.

I also found out that Wahoo, Nebraska, had the Nebraska legislature proclaim David Letterman an admiral in the Great Navy of the State of Nebraska. When Letterman jokingly said he wanted more, Wahoo sent him a '76 Ford Pinto with a sofa attached to the hood, a wall clock made of cow droppings, and two of the town's teenagers, brothers Jeff and Josh Price.

My Relationship with iTunes

When we first met, I love how you were so awesome. You were so open and sharing, until you started moving my stuff around. I do like how you give me stuff with my pop, though. But it would be nice if you got along with my friends better. And I do like your companion, but it just doesn't really get along with my best friend. I wish you could just see what's new with me and adapt yourself to that, but you're a little rigid. I don't mind how you tell all my friends what you're doing, because I expect that from my best friend. Anyways, I'm not ready to breakup yet, I like what you're offering me. I just wish like any other guy that I can have both.

Why Episode III is PG-13

Millennium Falcon has posted some gruesome pictures from a German Episode III book that basically solidifies that Revenge of the Sith will be PG-13 instead of PG. Quite nasty.

Battlefront 2?

From PC Gamer:
It will have space battles (Including Ep3’s space battle) where you can board, sabotage, and take control of certain parts of the cruiser class ships. Jedi will also be implemented although not a class in every map. The game will also be more objective driven compared to capturing outposts like the first battlefront.

Connell Fire Alarms Suck!

We had a fire drill in Connell today. I'm not sure why they need an alarm every 6 feet but they are so loud. It's like the sound of my brain mixing together! In retrospect, I wish I had recorded it, but I forgot. And the worst thing is I still had to go to class.

My Thoughts on Venom in Spider-Man 3

(I wrote this a while ago, but due to yesterday's announcement of Thomas Haden Church playing Spider-Man 3's unknown villian, I decided now is as good as any to post it.)

When I get bored, I take a look at the IMDb entry for Spider-Man 3. The forums usually go into these topics such as "Venom's in, 100%" or "My great idea" all having to do with Venom. Personally, I love the character, he's cool, but I just don't see it happening.

The movies convey this sense of realism, and usually all it takes to accept the villian's ability is the acceptance of one thing about them that does not exist. Green Goblin had the Goblin formula because I think the glider is pretty plausible. You have to believe that this stuff can make you strong, but mess up your mind which is not too hard to grasp. Doctor Octopus had really the fusion machine to accept. It's not too hard to grasp, humanity has seen the sun for eons, can we duplicate it? The arms might be a stretch but in layman's terms it makes sense to control the reaction. For Venom to work, you have to accept that aliens exist. Wow!

It doesn't help that the fans' scripts always include Carnage in Spider-Man 4. One at a time. Tobey and Kirsten don't really want to continue after 3, so why even think about it. It may be fun to kill off MJ, but how 'bout using her while she's here. Plus, if the series goes too long, it may drag on, regardless of a cool villain.

They probably will do Green Goblin again and Venom is basically an enhanced Spider-Man, so we'd be looking at no new powers of any kind. And even if they did do Venom, the hype created by the fans would be so big that the movie would never satisfy them, i.e. Star Wars Episode I.

Basically it boils down to simplicity. Harry as the Green Goblin makes sense with the existing story and Lizard wouldn't hurt anything. I also heard the comment that they want a celebrity to play villians. I'm sorry, but how long has Alfred Molina been a major celebrity? No offense, he's a great actor, but he's no major celebrity.

Logan's Midnight Run

I am so tired. Last night I made a midnight run into Norfolk to pick up the Clone Wars DVD and that was fun. By the way, Walmart has a 128MB Rio MP3 player on clearance for 50 daura hidden in the back. Shh! The Mauve Hand...Shh! Anyways, I also got The Killers CD and I needed some lighter fuel. I can't watch Clone Wars when I get back because that would put me to sleep around 3 so I wait. I have a full day's events starting with class, class, lunch, field experience, class, speaker, and finally, dinner. I had to wait 18 hours to see it but I finally got to see my DVD! I love it.

One thing is happy, my projects are coming to a close! I had my teaching episode yesterday and my last SPED thing is on next Tuesday. I do have to do some interviews, but I'm not worried. I just can't wait until it's all over! Oh yeah, I also found the mp3 for the Star Trek fight song!

I went to the Sci-fi Farscape marathon today and Jodie said that someone at Pepsi said that they may be bringing back Crystal Pepsi. The catch is that they would like it to be in clear cans. The answer: Transparent Aluminum, the formula Scotty gave that engineer back in 1986. Teehee! It's all a weird coincidence and all of this conversation is pure hearsay but it's interesting.

Not Public MSN Beta

I caved a while ago. I got a webcam and Trillian doesn't support it so I'm back to MSN beta. Anyways, I stumbled upon a non-public beta release which is kinda cool. First, it shows display pictures as an icon (you can make them bigger too, but too many are online) which I like, but also there's a private message bar which I like too. You can put in a message there and it will show up in your contact card. It also can replace that with "What I'm listening to" which shows what's on Windows Media Player (as evidenced below). You can also modify it to do that with Winamp somehow.

To show it all off, I made a screenshot. I decided to pixelate the names for privacy, but you may find your DSP. Also, some have grey by their name, that's the Messenger Plus! update that let's you rename contacts and keep the existing name in grey which I like.


Now I got it from here (right-click, save as .exe) but some of the links that the site listed are down, so if you want it and it's not working, let me know. I think it's spiffy and as far as I know, it's perfectly legal otherwise Microsoft would be hunting mess.be down as I speak and they're not.

Review of "National Treasure"

This movie was showing in Ramsey tonight. It wasn't too bad despite the soaring historical inaccuracies. It was a nice story with nice twists and it would be cool if there was something like that. The big killer is that they made the treasure so huge. It takes a lot of gullability to assume that something so massive can continue to evade all records and historians. See, this is why Indiana Jones is good. He's looking for small things: the Ark of the Covenant, the Indian/Hindu stones, and the Holy Grail (tiny by most respects). It's understandable if these small objects get lost. But a treause that huge under NYC 5 stories despite subway excavation under two major streets being gone forever is just ignorance. Anyways it was enjoyable.

My Rating: 6 out of 10, can't ignore the facts.
DVD-worthy: not really, not a bad rental or tape off of pay-per-view.

Music Boredom

Here's a fun fact: When you're listening to music on a playlist on anything, Windows Media Player, WinAmp, whatever; go to Q 98.5's website. Their site plays their callsign sound when you go there. Now if you're bored enough (like me), go to the site right when a song ends and another begins. It's freaky because it sounds like you're on the radio.

Also, I think I know what my next CD purchase will be. Yeah, I actually buy CD's. I think I'll get The Killers because there's nothing like songs that get stuck in your head and refuse to leave. Well, anyways they'll be in Omaha on May 5 at Sokol Auditorium and if I have money, I'd love to go!

Also, the letter people on Fridge 1 keep making shapes and stealing letters and it's not that fun so Fridge 2 or any of the others are better.

I'm always at a loss for words when it comes to trailers becuase I'm never sure what to make of them. I am surprised of the amount of spoilers in the trailer. I'm not talking about Vader or the Emperor, that's a given. But if you notice, they show the death of key prequel characters. Oh well, it's awesome. 60 Minutes said that Lucas wants the kids to stay home because ROTS will deserve the PG-13 rating it will get. Evil!

What I've learned so far

OK, I'm going to vent for a while but I need to do it. I'm going to talk about one of my cousins on my mom's side. She's a year younger than me and has quite the journey. I'm going to try to be as objective as possible and I do realize that I have her siblings' sites listed but I don't mind talking about her.

Now for some background. My cousin started last year at UNK. She visited Wayne but thought it was boring (true that) and she liked Kearney. She drove home every weekend while she was there. Granted my brother drove home every weekend too, but he was in Beatrice which is much, much closer. At the end of the semester she decided to transfer to Southeast Community College in Lincoln and live in an apartment. By the way, her parents are paying every step of the way. Now she says that she doesn't like the teachers and wants to go to UNL. I also hear she wants to move in with two guys and possibly another girl. And the parents are fine with this. She still has no major.

OK, One thing I've learned from college is that everything in college is up to you, there is no one to blame. If you don't like the teachers, point one, who cares, they're going to be gone next semester. And point two, you gotta realize that they don't care about you. If you don't like them you got to make the class interesting and pay attention to get better grades because they won't help you. My second rant is to the parents. I have nothing against transferring to another college but what a weak reason. "I don't like the town." OK, you're not there for the town, you're there for the college. She should have known that Kearney was too far away for her when she visited. Also, I consider my parents buying an apartment to be a reward for doing something good at college. I'm sorry, but switching colleges is not a reward. If I wanted an apartment, my parents would have me pay for it. And I know she won't like UNL. The classes will be too hard or the teachers will hate her.

Here's my psychic vision for her future. She'll leave UNL and maybe the parents will have her stay at home in Fremont. She'll go to UNO, not like it and maybe go to Midland before she gives up on college. She'll move to Washington state to be with her favorite Uncle Joe and will have completed her transformation into one of our aunts or uncles that have moved to the coast and lost contact that she has despised for so long. She was always planning family reunions to get the coastals out here but they all failed and she will become just like them.

OK, I'm done, but I may add more when I think of it...

Aww, there's little time left. Startrek.com released a production report for the last episode of Enterprise. But it sounds fun. Riker and Troi are back along with Shran and other plot-spoiling characters. No, there's no time travel, it's a holodeck in TNG-era. Riker will be dressed as a crewman, MACO, and another that they won't say...Degra? Hehe, wishful thinking. They're also going to Rigel X, where Enterprise went on its first mission. I've always said that a cool finale would have Bond-iose references to every season along at some subtle point in the episode. You never know now. However, it sounds like a nice and fitting bye-bye.

I've been slacking

Well, the big news is that the new theatrical Episode III Poster is out! Looks great, check out a huge version here. I've always said that sometime I wanted to get all the theatrical posters of the Star Wars movies (probably the special edition posters for the classics becaus those don't bother me) and have a wall dedicated to those posters up in Wayne, but that's money. And where I'm at, both StarWars.com and StarTrek.com are down, so I'm kinda limited on my super-official news.

I also want to throw this in: According to TrekToday, SpikeTV is interested in Enterprise for a new season but Paramount isn't talking...

Landfills don't die!

I'm playing SimCity 4 and a while ago I zoned for a landfill because I forgot about sanitation. Then I realized that there's much more environmentally friendly ways of taking out the trash. I've dezoned most of it, but now I have a 2x2 square fo landfill that won't go away. Can't delete it, can't remove it, can't destroy it. I got bored and tried using the disasters to get rid of it. Nothing works! I frickin' grew a volcano on top of it and it's still there! Does anyone know how to trash the thing (pun intended)?

Sunny Days

Things have been going so good the past few days, I have to share. I get a job, Halo LAN, bought me something, Friday's cancelled, what more can I ask? I'm so happy I decided to let Rhea borrow my PS2 for break. I figure if I take it home, I have to take my TV home and that's one more thing. Also, Best Buy called when I got home so I'll interview there. As much as I like the job that I've been given, I would LOVE to work at Best Buy.

Halo LAN Results

Yay for Halo LANs! This was very fun. I showed up around 11 because I had homework and I waited for an opening. I brought my camera, but I figured I would not do good so I wouldn't use it. Well, it started off that way with 7-9th places basically covered by me, but then it picked up. I remember how much I miss that game. After a few rounds I got to here:


Somewhere around this time, Bruce asked me "What's going on with you?" or something to that effect. And then I got another good match. On the last match, both Biskuit and I got melee triple kills during football. We rock.


Well, that's about it. I'm looking forward to the next one!

I'm both mad and happy. I found out in Government that there was a Modest Mouse concert in Omaha last night. I would've killed to go to that! But, I am happy that All-American Rejects are coming to Wayne for our spring concert. Goldfinger's also coming, but, unfortunately, I've never heard of them. I know, I'm a loser. Let me know what songs I should get cause I want to know how they sound.

I also found out that my History class is cancelled on Friday along with my Government class on that day, so I may be leaving tomorrow, hopefully.

Battlefront Online

I tried Battlefront online tonight. It's not bad, but something is wrong with the scripting. My first game was me vs. two humans with 6 AI players: Me=Republic on Cloud City. Yeah, that's going to go good. No people to hold command posts and they are destroyers. Then the game does Endor with me as the Rebels, so now they're both in AT-ST's. Yeah, it's not fun. The game needs to detect the amount of players and compensate on its random selection. Don't give the advantaged humans more of an advantage with the only side with vehicles. I can't believe that there isn't anyone online besides these two at 11:40pm, it's not that late. And I know they don't want to cause lag, but 12 people fighting at a time? I know they expect the maps to be full, but when they're not, you have a lot of ground to grab and no resources to do it. What's the next one? Hoth, where they're both in snowspeeders making the AT-AT's useless. And I know they're not cheating, they're doing what they're supposed to, there's just no defense. Although they did manage to get a snowspeeder into the base... Next level, Kashyyyk Docks as the Separatists. I should win this and despite being in a vehicle and against only one this time, the numbers weren't adding up. I'm killing them left and right and capturing command posts but yet they still have a good 50 more reinforcements. I got 42 kills that round and he got 28. Explain that! Next one, Naboo Plains and it feels like it's already in progress. I'm the Separatists and guess where he is...the Jedi Starfighter, where I can't get him, but he can get me. The teams are even, I get in a tank and head to the center, die and notice that we're now 25 under. It's at this point that I turn off the PS2. I need more practice, and people need to play this game online more often. I got respect for the guys, but when you're already owning the AI, does it hurt to get out of the vehicle and shoot at them? Like I said, they're doing nothing wrong, but I'd love to play a big match where I'd have at least another human on my team.
